Final post for the day...

This is our "big" planter with the red verigated dogwood as well as some panseys, verigated grass and some creeping something or the other...the creeping ground cover will have fushia flowers!

After several hours of gardening, one deserves a nice local brew to help wind down the day!

When Lola thought she would become a bird dog...

These are the "doomed" Mallards who were calmly walking along the edge of Lake Calhoun until our bird dog decided to go after them.

They THOUGHT they were in safe waters until...

our munchkin decided to go into the water as fast as she possibly could.  She got around 12 feet out until she started truly sinking.  Plus, the Mallards were looking at her like "ha ha, you can't get us, no matter how hard you try!"

You have to remember that the lake only defrosted a couple of weeks ago.  Here is Lola totally soaked to the bone wanting to go after the ducks again.  She won (for a 2nd and 3rd trip into the water!)

And after the first big cut...

You can finally see her eyes!  That said, they almost fully shaved her muzzle and this is after 3 weeks of growth.  No more PetsMart grooming.  We're taking her to Lulu and Luigi to see what they can do from now on!

Too cute to not post :)

I think she's looking up asking for a Goldfish.   We really don't give her human food often at all, but she's "caught" a few Goldfish that have dropped recently and she's all over it as soon as she smells them come out!

Lola's life pre-grooming

This is Lola with her hair in her face, pre-grooming.

With her dear friend, Rudy, from down the hall.  Rudy is Lola's favorite friend and he puts up with her SO well!  They just kiss and kiss each other.  Luckily, Pat and Sacha seem to love Lola as much as we enjoy Rudy!

At the off-leash dog park. Lola is doing better each time we go. We are just waiting for her off-leash permit to come in so we can start going again. The last time Adam was there, park services were handing out $180 tickets!!

Our First Entry

Thought we should start a blog to track both our love of cooking and our first "real" attempt at a container garden.  We'll try to post relatively frequently with lots of photos.  Enjoy!
