First 2 weeks of school, first cold & more eating!

So life changed a lot for me back a couple of weeks ago.  I knew Mommy was really getting not so happy about something, but I didn't know what it was.  Hit me like a Mack truck on Monday, 11/5.  That's the day Mommy left me at school.  Not sure what to make of it yet, but I think it was harder on her than it was on me.  At least that's what Mommy tells anyone who will listen.

Along with the first week at school (General Mills Daycare), something took over my body.  I mean, I had this stuff simultaneously stuck in my nose and flowing freely from my nose.  My left ear started doing funny things and I.was.SO.hot!!  102.3 degrees hot, to be exact.  Luckily, the lovely female doctor took a looksy and told Mommy to give me this white stuff they keep in the fridge.  I think it's called antibiotics, but it tastes like bubble gum.  At least that's what Sawyer at daycare told me.  I'm not sure what bubble gum tastes like (yet).  Mommy got sick, too, but she didn't get the bubble gum stuff.  Instead, she got a case of the hives plus the cold.  Both Daddy and I hope she gets better soon.  It's a week in with little relief so far from the itching.

Looking pitiful

In other news, I got weighed at the doctor, and I am almost 14 pounds!!!  13#14oz to be exact.  Mommy was very proud of herself.  I let her keep thinking it's something she's doing, but I think it's the yummy stuff they give me at school.  Yes, it comes in little cubes labeled with my name and Mommy has to fill out a "special diet" form every day since it's "special" food (also known as homemade organic), but whatever it is, I like it.  From oatmeal (2x/day) to squash and sweet potato, I am a HUGE fan.  Not so sure anymore of zucchini and I wasn't much of a fan at all of the spinach, but I sometimes humor Mommy and Daddy and eat it for them.  I don't eat that stuff for my teachers, though.  Only the non-green stuff for them.

That looks SCARY

Definitely don't like this green stuff (spinach)!

In other news, Sawyer is my idol at school.  He's a VERY cool 1-year old.  Just had his birthday last week.  I'll miss him when he moves to the toddler room.  Aiden is also my good buddy.  His Daddy and my Mommy work together.  In fact, they come down to pick us up at the same time quite a bit.  Finally, Jonah Dorman's best friend, Sadie's, little brother started the week I did.  His name is Harrison. I don't really know him yet, but hope we'll be best buds, too.

Enough writing.  Here are some peek-tures from the last 2 weeks.  Right now I'm wanting to go back to my activity mat where I'm starting to "scoot" to toys I want.  Mommy is adament it is NOT pre-crawling, but I think I'm going to surprise her sometime very soon and show her how I can move around.  Watch out, Lola...here I come, especially now that I have not one but TWO teeth!

xoxo,
Coleman

I love sticking my tongue out to feel my TWO teeth!!
Uh oh...I was cught in action!  I started on the activity mat
I'll just smile and be cute!

23 Weeks, Halloween, First Tooth and Squash!

This week has been a ton of fun for me.  Mommy and Daddy make silly faces, generally scrunching up their nose and smiling and I do the same thing back to them.  Mommy asks me to do it to strangers, but I'm only sometimes OK with it.  Generally the cute old ladies swoon, so I'll oblige for them.

Highlights from the week:

  • Costumes
  • Tooth
  • Squash
Let's start with costumes.  I don't know who in the world came up with this thing called Halloween, but I think it's just an excuse for Mommy and Daddy to take pictures and then eat candy.  Well, my Mommy and Daddy didn't eat candy but Mommy said she can't wait for next year!  Let's talk pictures.  Who in the WORLD thought it was fun to put on scratchy, stuffed things they call costumes?!?  I sure don't think it's great.  In fact, I wouldn't even smile at Mommy, Daddy, Pops or Grams in my lion costume.  Oh what...I guess I'm suppsed to say "Rawrrr."  Not sure what that means!

Fascinated with Gramps' Beard

I did like my other outfit that was just a shirt and pants.  Well, a shirt, pants and some pretty cool socks from Gigi.  It was Daddy's turn to wear the scratchy, hot stuffed thing.  He didn't scare me, though.  Apparently his buddy Jay dressed as a panda bear and he scared Keith's little girl.  She started crying.  Sigh...girls!
Monsters Inc!
Playing with Photobooth on the iMac - Mommy's bangs aren't real

Finally, Mommy and Daddy wore costumes to dinner on Saturday.  Well, Mommy wore a costume while Daddy complained the hat was too small and the glasses hurt.  In fact, Daddy gave the costume to Uncle Jinho for the party he was hosting on Halloween night for their neighborhood.  Mommy made some cute pizza-things (she called them Calzones) but they were cuter than they were tasty.  Oh well!  While Mommy and Daddy were out having fun, I stayed at home with Maria Gabriella.  Mommy found her on something called SitterCity.com.  She had a full background check from the site and interviewed well with Mommy.  She also did a very nice job getting me to sleep while Mommy finished getting ready!  I kind of liked Maria Gabriella.  I can't wait to say "hola"to her sometime soon!

Mummy Loves Me Onesie
Also, exploring the furniture (thank you Grandad!)
Must see Grand-Uncle John's new furniture line sometime soon!
Alrighty, onto my tooth.  It's finally here.  All white and sharp.  I'm getting used to it, although I make funny faces when I'm playing with it with my tongue.  Oh, and the other one next to it is coming in soon.  Mommy keeps pushing on it and it makes it feel better.  It hurts like a happy clown.  Hopefully I get a break for a few months after this next one comes in.

Finally, squash.  My Aunty Sarah D LOVES her squash.  Uncle Nate said to ask anyone at Target or the General Mills store for confirmation. Not sure what that means, but I think it may mean she buys a lot of it.  Anyhow, Mommy bought this yummy looking organic acorn squash from Whole Foods the other day.  She roasted it up in the oven and then gave it a whir in the mini Cuisenart.  All I can say is OMG!  Mommy gave it to me on Friday night.  Started with one small cube, only 1/2 filled.  I ate it all and smacked for more.  She gave me another full cube and I squawked for more!  Finally, she put a tablespoon in my oatmeal (my other new food from the week) and I ate about 1/4 cup.  YUMMO.  I think Mommy likes it more than Daddy at this point since Daddy's had to change my pants a couple of times.  He told Mommy to back off the quantity.  Le sigh...

So, that's it for the week.  Mommy is still a "hot mess" (at least that's what she tells people).  I think I start school tomorrow.  Not sure if I'm excited or not.  Mommy is very NOT excited.  Daddy is going to help me get situated and meet my teachers.  I also think he's going to have to physically remove Mommy from the classroom.  Please keep Mommy in your thoughts this week.  It's going to be a hard one for her.
