Coleman turns 2-months!

Finally we're having some nice, Minnesota summer weather!  We had a great week this week, with Auntie Lindsay and Ting, TJ & Kaya in town Monday & Tuesday as well as Auntie Whitney and Uncle Patrick, along with little Lillian visit Wednesday-Friday.

Some highlights from the week:

  • On Monday, Coleman weighed in at 10#6oz in his onesie with his paci.  After weighing the paci and onesie, I'm guessing his "real" weight was around 10#3.5-4oz this week.
  • Coleman went to the MN Children's Museum for the first time with the Louies and saw the Curious George exhibit
  • We went to the Como Zoo with Whitney and Lillian on Thursday and saw all sorts of animals!
  • Coleman had his first non-family babysitter(s) on Thursday: Whitney and Lillian!  Mommy got her hair cut and Lillian was ready - she told anyone who would listen that she was going to MN to babysit Baby Coleman (Lillian is 2 1/2).  Big thank you to Whitney for watching him during nap time :)
  • On Friday, we watched Grandad play in the Open and cheered him along the entire afternoon!  Snapped my favorite picture of Coleman thus far
Saturday was pretty much the biggest one yet for the family.  It was Mommy & Daddy's 5th wedding anniversary (and 14th anniversary from our first date!).  What a fun, relaxing day.  We started with breakfast at a newer place, Sun Street Breads in S. Minneapolis (delicious biscuit breakfast sandwiches!).  We played around the house all day with the hot weather and got ready for the night.  Shortly before we left for dinner, Daddy popped a bottle of Schramsberg Vintage 2007 (Calistoga) and gave Mommy her anniversary present.  The necklace is PERFECT!  Then it was off to dinner at Restaurant Alma while Carolyn, a nurse/neighbor watched him.

Dinner was perfect - a fantastic bottle of Viogner and we popped a bottle of the 1999 Marcassin Pinot Noir that the Lipps gave us for our wedding.  Thank goodness for MN liquor laws that allow re-corked bottles of wine to leave a restaurant.  Adam had the hamachi tartare, masa corn crepe with rabbit in mole and duck with grilled peaches.  I had the farrow and squid salad, soft corn polenta with mushrooms and the roasted pork tenderloin with summer tomatoes and beans.  YUM!

Some photo highlights of the week are below.  Was fun watching Grandad in the Open this week.  Here's to an AWESOME week next week at Turnberry!!

xoxo,
Meg, Adam and Coleman

First Trip to the MN Children's Museum with the Louies!  At the Curious George exhibit.

Lillian was the best babysitter!  Lots of "Peeky Boo" and activity mat time with Lillian watching.

 Flamingos & Spider Monkeys!

 Orangatuns and the Giant Gorilla!

  Seals & American Bison

 Giraffes (hooray!) and a Tiger

Zebras...can you tell how much fun Coleman had?  Yes, he slept the ENTIRE time :)

Cheering on Grandad and practicing Tummy Time (can you tell how much his cheeks are starting to chub up?!?)

Mommy's 5th Anniversary gift from Daddy - I love it!!

And now our 2 month and 9 week photos!

Not a great shot, but I love the little smile!!

No judging on his 9-week photos...he had 4 shots + an oral vaccine in the morning. He was NOT a happy camper on Monday night, but we wanted to make sure we took his weekly pictures.  Also, he could have been upset that Mommy dressed him in a "gown."

Woah - 8 weeks went by FAST!

So much has happened in the past 8 weeks!  For one, I've gotten a lot bigger.  I was born at 7#7oz and left the hospital just under 7#.  I now weigh (with a onesie and my bink) 10#6oz!

Week 7 of my life was pretty eventful!  On Monday, we drove out to Rochester MN for Gammy Lulu to have a checkup (everything is A-OK!).  We also met Cherie Miles for lunch.  Tuesday was a lazy day at home.  On Wednesday, Mommy ran a ton of errands (first car service, bought some baby essentials for the upcoming trip, etc).  And, Gammy Lulu let Mommy and Daddy have a date night (at Meritage in St. Paul).  That said, I was pretty darn fussy and Gammy Lulu had eyes as big as salad plates when we came home.  She didn't want to see me for the rest of the night, but that just meant more cuddle time with Mommy & Daddy!  Thursday was an adventure of more errands and Friday we drove to Milwaukee for Abby's wedding celebration!

Friday's drive was tough with all of the rain and I was sick of the car from last weekend.  Oh well...Mommy and Gammy made due (Daddy flew to Milwaukee that night).  We played in Milwaukee and checked me into my first hotel, the Hilton City Center!  I FINALLY got to meet Aunt Lindsay, Uncle Ting and TJ & Kaya.  SO MUCH FUN!!  Friday night was a party at the Ramirez's beautiful house on a lake just West of the city.

On Saturday morning, we woke up and went to brunch with the crew (Louies, Watson/Carrs and Macharva/Ryan).  After that we hit up Lake Park & the beach (Coleman's first beach!) followed by a stop at a classic Milwaukee bar where Mommy/Daddy/Ryan had some sort of HORRIBLE Milwaukee beer.

Saturday night was a big night...not only was it Abby's extravaganza, but it was Mommy and Daddy's first night "without" me.  Gammy Lulu had an adjoining room and she insisted on watching me and letting Mommy and Daddy have fun all night long!  Mommy and Daddy dropped me off at 6:30 and woke me up at 8am the next day!  I was VERY good for Gammy Lulu and Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a night like they used to before I came into the picture.

Sunday was brunch with Abby, Omar and the crew, followed by a drive back to Minneapolis (caravaning with the Louies) and an Italian dinner at the 3rd place we tried (La Grassa was booked, Broder's had a 90 minute wait so we ended up at Arezzo in Edina).  Pretty good before a night of rest!

The biggest milestone this week...I am sleeping AWESOME!!!  I've been giving Mommy and Daddy between 6 and 8 hour blocks of sleep each night!  We're at 5 in a row, so hoping this is a trend vs. a fluke.  Mommy is loving the extra sleepy time!!

Then it was Monday and my 8 week photo shoot!  Cannot believe I'm 8 weeks old!!!

xoxo,
Coleman

p.s. hoping to update when we get copies of pictures from Aunt Lindsay!

Monogrammed RL Onesie from the Nanas - how cute is that?!?

A photo from the bathroom lounge at my first hotel - the Hilton City Center in Milwaukee!

My first Lake/Beach at Lake Park/Lake Michigan in Milwaukee

Sleepy time after the big weekend and the drive back home!

And now a series of cute photos of Coleman and Kaya Louie!  She's 24 weeks, so 4 months ahead of Coleman.

And finally, here's what happens when Mommy asks Daddy to take the weekly photos.  They are taken in his Miracle Blanket (thank you Dormans for the cute green one!)

All About Family!

So since the week 6 and 7 post got so long, I wanted to have a different post to show some of the fun photos of Coleman meeting the family in KC.  Lots of fun events out at Aberdeen, at the Shulls, at Gammy Lulu's, etc.  Enjoy!

At Aberdeen Village on the 4th of July for Breakfast:

At Gammy Lulu's for my first 4th of July BBQ - Uncle Michael gave me my first golf lesson.  Always start with the grip!

At the first of many big family events at the Shulls - next one will be Christmas Eve Day!

Another trip out to Aberdeen to visit with Great Grandma/pa Carr - this time with Daddy!  Several 4 generation photos!

And another trip out to the Atriums to visit Great Nannie.  I got hungry real fast, so Nannie expertly gave me a bottle!
